Spring has finally arrived here in Virginia, and there’s something about the sight of crocuses and daffodils popping up everywhere that just makes me feel inspired to sew. Right now, I’m putting together a modified v-neck Terrace Dress in a rich wine-colored linen. It’s such a beautiful fabric, and it’s got me daydreaming about creating the perfect spring capsule wardrobe—though, of course, that assumes someone else could take care of my kids for a week. Since that’s not going to happen anytime soon, I’ll likely only sew a fraction of what I’ve been imagining. Still, dreaming is half the fun, isn’t it? This dream capsule wardrobe includes a pair of pants, a skirt, a dress, and three tops that could work well with both the pants and the skirt. I’ve included a visual reference below so you can get an idea of what I’m thinking. ![Spring looks to make with Liesl + Co.](http://bsg-i.nbxc.com/blog/68d8fdea4846f6919dd14739f08384af.jpg) Clockwise from the top left: 1. During the hot, humid summers in Virginia, I find myself gravitating toward loose-fitting, lightweight pants paired with a boxy linen tank. The Breezy Blouse and the Montauk Trousers with a slightly wider leg feel like the ideal combo for staying comfortable while still looking put-together. 2. Of course, I also love breezy dresses for warmer weather, especially when they’re made of—wait for it—linen. My current project, the Terrace Dress, is shaping up to be a great example of this. Other fantastic options include the Cappuccino Dress, the Cinema Dress, and the Gelato Dress—all of which are fantastic choices for a relaxed yet stylish warm-weather look. 3. For spring, I always try to have at least one top that feels both easy to wear and dressy enough for more formal occasions. The Weekend Getaway pattern would be perfect for creating a pretty floral blouse that fits the bill. 4. If I lengthen the skirt and make it out of denim, I’d absolutely adore the Maritime Knit Top paired with it. In fact, I need to sew another Maritime soon—I accidentally ruined my first one while trying to mouse-proof the garage with a canister of spray foam! What about you? Is spring inspiring you to pick up your sewing needles? Let me know what you’re planning in the comments! --- I hope you found this little peek into my sewing dreams interesting. Spring is such a vibrant time of year, and it always feels like the perfect season to start fresh with new projects. Whether you're working on something simple or diving into something more complex, I'd love to hear about it!
