Hey everyone, Alright, my dear sewing enthusiasts, you've been asking for a swimsuit sew-along, and here we go! I'll be diving into this project by sewing Lisette for Butterick B6358, but I'm hoping you'll join me on this journey. If you're more into sewing B6360 instead, don't worry—most of the tips and tricks I share will still apply to your suit. While I won't guide you step-by-step through every single detail, you'll definitely gain valuable insights, especially if you're new to making swimwear. Here's a sneak peek of what we'll be working on: ![](http://bsg-i.nbxc.com/blog/b9bf3247e3b052e5b907c6ed5709c95f.jpg) We're going to kick off the sew-along on May 23, spreading out the days so you have enough time to keep up at your own pace. Feel free to jump in whenever you like! Even if May 23 doesn't work for you, you can still participate later. The sew-along will remain available until the end of June, giving you plenty of wiggle room. **Pattern Description** This adorable, fully lined swimsuit pattern can be made as either a one-piece or a two-piece suit. Both styles are designed to fit snugly, cut on the crosswise grain, and feature elasticized edges. The top comes with front ties, adjustable shoulder straps that crisscross at the back, removable bra cups, and a hook-and-eye closure at the back. The bottom is high-waisted, complete with a cute little scoop in the back and a tie detail. This pattern is specifically designed for two-way stretch knit fabrics. **Swimwear Sew-Along Schedule** As I put together each segment of the sew-along, the schedule might shift slightly to ensure everything flows smoothly. For now, here's a tentative outline: - **May 5**: Fabric and Trims – Let's gather all the essentials! I’ll help you pick out the right trims and materials and point you in the direction of where to find them. - **May 23**: Day 1 – Cutting Out Your Fabric & Practicing Sewing – Learn the right stitches and techniques tailored for your suit. - **May 25**: Day 2 – Assembling the Tie Front & Facing – Finishing touches for the upper edges of both one-piece and two-piece suits. - **May 27**: Day 3 – Putting Together the Two-Piece Bottom & Lining. - **May 30**: Day 4 – Finalizing the Upper Edge of One-Piece and Two-Piece Fronts, Adding Leg Elastic, and Completing the Two-Piece Bottoms. - **May 31**: Day 5 – Attaching Shoulder Straps & Finishing Touches – Wrapping up both one-piece and two-piece suits. **How to Join In** If you haven’t already, make sure you’ve got your pattern. You can find both suits’ patterns right here. This Thursday, I’ll dive into the fabric and supplies you’ll need. Then, we’ll see you over in the Discussion Forums Sew Alongs group on Monday, May 23! Be sure to tag your progress photos with #sewlisette and #B6296 or #B6360 on Instagram so we can all follow along. If you run a blog, feel free to grab the sew-along badge to pop into your posts or sidebar—it’s a fun way to let others know you’re joining in! ![](http://bsg-i.nbxc.com/blog/4e3fe0e5ceee8de1bca6ddde2230d90e.png) ```html ``` Just like our previous sew-alongs, we’ll also create a link-up where you can share a photo of your completed suit. Stay tuned because the sew-along begins soon! Get ready to make something amazing. And remember, no matter when you join, you’re always welcome. Happy sewing! 😊 P.S. Don’t forget to grab your pattern early to avoid any last-minute stress.
