Song Kiln Feature Introduction

Ge kiln is one of the five famous kilns in the Song Dynasty. “Gold wire, purple iron foot” is a well-known feature of the Goulok. In addition, the kiln also won with a glaze color, and the kiln inside and outside the porcelain kiln was glazed, uniform and clean, crystal nourishing. The Ge Kilns in different periods are also slightly different. Today, the Chinese ceramics library Xiao Bian introduces you to the Ge Kiln characteristics of the Song Dynasty.

The kiln porcelain is distinguished from the luster by moon white, gray yellow, powder blue, grayish green, putty, deep beige and other types. The most prominent feature of Ge Kiln porcelain is that the glaze is thick and delicate, shiny and lustrous, just like the gel; if placed under a microscope, the bubbles contained in the enamel are like the foam beads, and the glaze between the glazes is of different sizes. Or dense or sparse, the color of its texture is light yellow, like gold, fine black, such as wire, the two intertwined, and thus the name of the "gold wire."

The Song Dynasty Kiln Kilns were fine, and the porcelain mouth was narrow along the sharp edge. The thick glaze could not survive at the mouth of the porcelain. The drooping glaze formed a slightly convex annular band slightly below the edge of the mouth, and was slightly constricted by the rim of the fetal bone. Called the “purple mouth”, this is one of the Songkok kiln porcelains. Although there were many Song Dynasty kiln imitations in the past, they were not able to achieve this skill in firing.

The porcelain kiln inside and outside the kiln is glazed, even and clean, crystal nourishing, not only the porcelain tone of the buckle is clear, but also the shape is straight and generous, the contour is also soft and smooth. The porcelain kiln belonging to the celadon family wins with glaze.

In the Song Dynasty, Ge Kilns were favored by people in the later world. There were many copyists in Yuan, Ming and Qing dynasty, and each had its own style. They were called Fang Ge Kiln or Golache, but their production process was no longer comparable to that of the Song Dynasty Ge Ge Kiln. Qing Emperor Qianlong especially liked to appreciate Song Dynasty's Ge Kiln. He tasted it like a poem and praised the poem: "Iron is full of cracks in the waist and ice, and it is declared to be a Fuhua Fong."

The identification of Geyao Porcelain mainly focuses on the aspects of modeling, fetal bone and glaze. Its fetal quality is black, delicate and solid. The glaze is thick and moist, and the glaze has large and small pieces. The utensils are mainly bottles, stoves, dishes, bowls, and jars.

In the 1960s, the Zhejiang Provincial Cultural Relics and Archeological Department had excavated several kiln sites such as the Longquan Dayao Kiln, and discovered many black tires with celadon patterns, most of which were porcelains for daily life. However, compared with the other parts of the kiln, the two types of kiln are different in shape, color, glaze and pattern. For this reason, the cultural relics industry refers to these collections originally housed in the court, which are now housed in the Palace Museum, the Shanghai Museum, and these kiln wares that have been scattered in the private and foreign countries as the "passed Gothic kiln".

The handed down Geyao porcelain is mainly made of imitation ancient bronze utensils, such as fish ear furnace, studded stove, gallbladder bottle, Octagon wear bottle, chopstick bottle, etc., as well as dishes, bowls, and washing. Its fetal bone is thick, and the quality of the fetus is delicate. Most of the drills use braces at the bottom of the device. However, the Longquan Gou Kiln found at present is not brazed. The origin of this world-famous handed-in Goyao has not yet been discovered, and it remains to be known by archaeologists of cultural relics.
